At decora our mision is to see concrete in a whole new light not just as a foundation material but as a finished product that is both durable and beautifull. Decora Concrete Stonewrks operates on Vancouver Island (B.C. Canada) and admitedly this is not exacly a hot bed for new concrete technologies in fact I would estimate us to be a bout 10 years behind the times when it comes to decorative concrete at least in the Port Alberni area. Understandibly when it comes to your home people are hesitant to try new and unproven things while decorative concrete finishes are relatively new in the V.I. area I would like to point out that in other parts of North America they have been succesfully creating concrete masterpieses for some 20 years. I myself stamped my first concrete about 13 years ago (1995).So as I have pointed out the technology itself may not be as new as you think but to the contractors who work in it it may be all new. Neadless to say it is importand to find a contractor who is nowlegeable and comfortable working in decorative concrete finishes and as you may have already guessed at Decora Concretestoneworks we make it a priority to work with and gain first hand experience in decorative concrete finishes. Decora Concrete Stoneworks was started in 2005 with a primary goal of exploring and providing decorative concrete finishes since then I have taken courses on various overlay products, attended trade shows, networked with peers and sought out product suppliers and from first hand experience I can tell you I have barely touched the surface.
